Motivation

I wish to ensure that the competencies and needs of the technical and administrative staff are taken into account in the work of the University Board. It is amongst us one finds the organisational memory: what has been attempted before, what has worked or not – whether related to research, study or communication administration, IT systems, finances and procurement, or property management and development. Our experiences are important for good governance at the university.

My Key Issues and Election Platform

Academic freedom: The university's oldest and foremost function is to ask questions and seek answers, free from any influence but scientific criticism. In a world where "alternative truths" are gaining ground in the public sphere, research-based knowledge and education are more important than ever. Everyone affiliated with UiO carries a responsibility to contribute where we can.

Collaboration – internally and locally, nationally and internationally: We need to continue to develop our collaborations, not least internationally. UiO possesses world-class expertise, whether in terms of research and teaching or administration and campus operations. At the same time, there is always more to learn and to share, whether in collaboration with the outside world or here at UiO. We must dismantle internal silos and create structures that enable us to learn from one another.

A good working and study environment: There is a lot that works well at UiO, but we also face high dropout rates in studies, and diversity among staff can present practical challenges. Research shows that diversity pays off, regardless of the field. We must improve in terms of facilitation, whether regarding language, disabilities, or other challenges that students or staff may face.

UiO's finances are under pressure – then, it is especially important to avoid being penny-wise and pound-foolish. I am committed to sound financial management and believe that UiO should be able to prioritise the resources necessary to invest in its staff. Competence development for technical and administrative staff is a low-hanging fruit.

Above all, I wish to be someone whom the technical and administrative staff at UiO feel truly represented by. Daily life at UiO varies depending on where one works. Many years at UiO have provided me with a network that encompasses all staff groups and practically every unit. Technical and administrative staff are passionate about UiO, and I hope to be an easily accessible representative who ensures that our experiences and perspectives are heard.

About me

I have 23 years of experience in study and research administration at a central level, particularly within international collaboration and research leadership. In this capacity, I have been involved in communications work and knowledge acquisition, including the development of solutions in web information (Vortex) and study information (FS). I have participated in the development of action plans and regulations, served as secretary for the university's working groups on career development for early-career researchers and innovation, and led a facilitation project for refugees with academic backgrounds (Academic Dugnad). I have also been a union representative on appointment committees for the central administration. Currently, I serve as a central advisor for international collaboration in doctoral education and administrative leader for UiO's research leadership programmes. Altogether, this has provided me with broad insight into the working life of technical and administrative as well as academic staff. In my private life, I am partially active in national politics and enjoy dealing with large and complex documents.
