Student housing available to international PhD candidates and young researchers

Information for applicants

• International researchers from abroad. Due to limited amount of housing, only researchers applying from abroad will be considered for housing.
• Student housing is available to international Ph.D. candidates and researchers under the age of 40.
• Only for single researchers.
• The units are by default single rooms of simple standard with shared bathroom and kitchen facilities. You?may apply for studio apartments for singles but?we cannot guarantee success. Check Student housing (sio.no) for detailed information.
• All?rooms are furnished. However, duvets, pillows, bed linen, curtains and kitchen utensils are not provided for and can not be rented. For PhD candidates and researchers, 20 % is added to the student rent, but?you do not pay?any deposit.
• Application: As a Ph.D. candidate, young international researcher or trainee you cannot apply for student housing through?the SiO website but must contact your department at UiO.

Information for tenants

• Researchers who have been offered student housing, pick up the keys at the SiO Customer Service Centre (sio.no)?in Kristian Ottosen's Building on?Blindern Campus.
• To report any faults or deficiencies in the accommodation, please contact the caretaker on My Page or call SiO Customer Service at 22 85 32 00.
