Digital Signage – Digital Door Signs

Purpose Explain the setup, use and troubleshooting of touch-enabled door signs with RFID

Setup (supplier’s responsibility)

  • The supplier sets up the door sign with the correct channel and metadata (building, room)
  • The sign receives power via PoE 802.3af/at (7–10 inch panel)

  • The RFID reader and touch screen are integrated

What can you do?

  1. Monitor the display via Players in the CMS

  2. Report faults in the same way as ordinary info displays (see “Report faults”)

  3. Need new templates? Send an email to digital-skilting@uio.no with a description of the desired layout

Accessibility

  • Screens must be mounted 120–140 cm above the floor to be reachable from a wheelchair
