What is Adobe Creative Cloud?
- Subscription package for access to Adobe applications, such as Acrobat Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, and other software for graphic design, video and image editing, web development, and PDF document editing.
- Available as individual licenses rented on an annual basis. This means that we do not purchase the software and own it, but pay an annual rental fee for each individual user. Each user is registered as the "owner" of the license, allowing the software to be installed on up to two machines simultaneously.
- The software is downloaded and installed via Adobe Creative Cloud using a personal Adobe ID.
- The IT department at UiO has entered into a joint agreement with Adobe that provides the university with a collective volume discount on licenses, contributing to cost-effective access for all users.
Terms of use for Adobe Creative Cloud at UiO
- When you order an Adobe license, you will be assigned a personal Adobe ID, which the license is linked to. Remember to create a unique password for this account – avoid using the same password as your UiO account.
- The license period at UiO runs from November 6 to November 6 each year.
- When you order a new license, you will be invoiced for the remaining time in the first license period.
- Before the expiration of the license period, you will receive a question about whether you wish to renew the license for another year.
- Renting the license includes cloud storage services from Adobe. However, note that Adobe Document Cloud and other Adobe cloud services are not approved storage services at UiO and should not be used for storing UiO data. See UiO’s storage guide for more information.
Ordering Adobe Creative Cloud
To access the programs in Adobe Creative Cloud, you must order a license. Licenses can be ordered for employees and students via the online form "Ordering Adobe License" and submitted by the person who will be using the license.
- The order must be approved by BDM, and the cost center/subproject must be clarified before submission.
- Confirmation of approval and the email address of BDM must be provided in the online form.
- If additional programs are needed, the Creative Cloud All Apps option is recommended due to pricing.

Installing programs from fra Adobe Creative Cloud
The programs in the agreement are installed and updated through Adobe Creative Cloud. When you first launch Adobe Creative Cloud, you will be prompted to log in. Use your Adobe ID and the password you have created.
Installing on a UiO-managed computer:
Windows PC: The program Adobe Creative Cloud is available for installation through the Company Portal on your computer.
Mac: The program Adobe Creative Cloud is available for installation through the Managed Software Center on your Mac.
For other computers:
You can download Adobe Creative Cloud directly from Adobe's website. Please note that you will need to be an administrator on the computer to install the software and perform future updates.
