Autotekst – speech to text with Whisper from OpenAI

What is Autotekst?

Autotekst is a UiO-developed service for transcribing speech to text using Whisper from OpenAI.
The entire service runs on UiO’s servers, and no data leaves UiO’s infrastructure. The service can therefore be used for classified (red) data, provided you have a workspace approved for this.
Can be used to transcribe audio recordings.
Can be used to subtitle videos, and provides files that can be used in any video player.
Examples of use include transcribing recordings made with the Nettskjema dictaphone and subtitling video from Zoom or Panopto.

Free usage for UiOs employees and students.
The service should only be used for data?owned by you or the institution you work for.
Don't hesitate to contact us if you plan to auto-generate text to?a large amount of sound files.
The service can be credited with the following text: “This work was carried out with the help of Autotekst. Autotekst transcribes speech to text using Whisper from OpenAI.
