Norwegian language courses up to advanced level (B2-C1, CEFR level). A NORA course offers you all in one: university teaching, language practice and exam.
Course overview Spring & Autumn semester
The language courses with exams are offered in the spring and autumn semesters with teaching held both in the day time and evenings. Course fees apply. (See information on summer semester under this section.)
NOTE: Only available for applicants who are residing in Norway/EU/EEA.

- NORA0120 – Intermediate Norwegian Level 2 (15 credits, B1)
- NORA0130 – Mellomkurs i norsk, trinn 3 (20 credits, B2-C1)
- NORA0130D – Mellomkurs i norsk, trinn 3 (20 credits, B2-C1) (online and session-based)

A digital Norwegian language course
NORA0130D consists of weekly online teaching in combination with three weekend sessions in a classroom at Blindern campus in Oslo. Regular attendance is expected of all participants.

Intensive 6-week summer courses
If you are up for a 6-week Norwegian language course, subscribe to a course at the International Summer School's summer session. Levels 1-3 are offered as summer courses every year, and in 2026 we also offer a level 4 Norwegian language course. The application period for summer courses is January 2 - March 1 2026.

Important: NORIR courses are not for credit and do not include a final exam. Course participants must be able to speak English.
"Norway p? Norsk" – A Popular Summer Language and Culture Course
"Norway p? Norsk" is a non-credit, 3-week course that combines Norwegian language learning with cultural insights.
The course is offered in two parts (Part I and Part II), each lasting 3 weeks. It is designed for international participants who wish to improve their Norwegian skills while gaining a deeper understanding of Norwegian society and culture.
The program also includes several excursions in Oslo, giving participants the opportunity to explore Norwegian history, nature, and everyday life firsthand. It was very well received by participants in summer 2025.
Please note that this course does not provide academic credit and does not offer scholarships.
