Start of master studies at the Department of Geosciences
The start of studies for the new master's students in Geosciences takes place in August. Here, you will find an overview of the things you need to know and do and a program for the welcome week.

Tasks at the start of studies
- The welcome meeting on Wednesday, August 13th, is mandatory to maintain your admission
- Feel free to log in to My Studies before the semester starts
Deadlines at the start of studies
14th August:
- Deadline for registering for courses in Studentweb to apply within the main admission. Important! You don't need to do anything until you have attended the first mandatory lecture.
1st September:
- Registration and payment of the semester fee in Studentweb.
- Apply for special examination arrangements.
- Last deadline for enrollment to courses.

Student activities at the department
The Geoscience Student Council
The Geosciences Student Council (GFU) is made up of student representatives who advocate for the academic and social interests of GEO students. It acts as an important link for communication and collaboration between students and the Department of Geosciences.
G?A NORVEGICA
One of UiO's by far oldest associations for students can be found at the Department of Geosciences. G?A Norvegica was founded as early as 1935, and since then has brought the students together both academically and socially.
