I have uploaded a list of suggested topics for the in-class presentations together with a brief evaluation criteria in the OneDrive subfolder "Presentation". Please let me know if you have any trouble accessing the files. You are welcome to choose a topic from the list and use the suggested paper(s), or suggest your own topic (as long as it is relevant for extragalactic astronomy), or use the topic from the list but decide your own paper(s) you would like to present.
Please send me and the group teachers your topic and choice of paper(s) by October 31.

1) There will be no lectures on Tuesday, September 30 and Wednesday, October 1.
2) On the week after, October 7-8, the lectures will be replaced by tutorial sessions on the Numerical Project, where you can receive hands-on helps from the group teachers. I strongly encourage everyone to participate.
3) The group sessions on Wednesdays in both weeks will occur as usual.
I have uploaded the description of the numerical project in the OneDrive folder "Numerical project". The file name is AST4320_Numerical_Project.pdf. Note that this is the main file in which the tasks of the project are described. In the same folder there is another file named AST4320_Numerical_Project_Notes.pdf, which contains some very useful information regarding how to use the ITA computing resources, how to run pnybody, AHF etc.

The deadlines for the assignments and the numerical projects are:

- Nov. 21, numerical project
The in-class presentation will be in week 45, Nov. 4-5, during usual lecture and group session time.

It was very nice meeting many of you at the lecture today! As I mentioned in the lecture, please send me your UiO email address at sijing.shen@astro.uio.no, so that I can share the course folder with you on UiO OneDrive. I will put the slides there after every lecture, and also the assignments and projects as the course progresses.
