Hello splendid class of IN4340!

Many thanks to everyone who filled in the feedback form on the course earlier this week. One of the points that were raised is that you would like to hear more on the take home exam, the structure of questions, and maybe see some example of past exam questions.

In yesterday's class, we have hence decided to use the next seminar - rather than for a case simulation - to discuss the exam format, take any questions about it, and practice on some exam-type questions. I have also made last year's exam available here for people to practice on.

Hello everyone,

A warm welcome to IN4340, "Engaged Qualitative Research Methods"! In this course we will learn about engaged research, a participatory form of research that we use to study real-world problems from the perspectives of key stakeholders. We will go through different methods for conducting engaged qualitative research, and apply them to field cases from domains including digital health, the digital economy and issues of socio-economic development. This will equip first-year students to write a solid research proposal for your MSc thesis, and second-year and PhD students to strengthen the conduct and reporting of your research.

This course is assessed with a take-home exam that will be released in November. Essential readings are available in the course schedule, and a full pensum with supplementary readings and a list of recommended articles, podcasts and multimedia can be downloaded ...
