It seems that Studentweb does not give the exact number of the room in which the examination will be held.
If more information will not appear on the Studentweb, please arrive at Silurveien 2 a bit earlier and find the correct room, 3C or 4D.
Apologies for the inconvenience due to this matter which is unfortunately beyond my control.
1. The following PDF files are uploaded to Inspera as external resources. It is advisable to make an index that for example shows which topics are contained by which files and on which pages. You can take the index with you to the examination.
2. The cover-page of the examination looks like this.
3. For each question you can optionally upload handwritten equations or drawings. The instructions for doing so will be provided in Inspera. But you can preview them here. (Note: Please do NOT use this facility for text, just type text in the provided space in Inspera)
Past question papers and answers were not allowed to be made available as an external resource in Inspera. So if you need these documents, then make print-outs and take them with you.
PS. Think about the environment and minimize your print-outs.
1. Click on the link provided (in the timeplan)
2. Provide your answers in the quiz
3. At the end of quiz, click on "send me the results" option
4. Provide your e-mail
5. In your e-mail inbox open the link sent by mentimeter (View the results button)
6. When the results are opened, click on the option "copy to your account" (You need to sign up for a mentimeter account prior to this step)
7. Now you can open the quiz session from within your mentimeter account and see the correct answers.
On Friday the 25th of November there is an extra session on past examination questions, answers and practical issues.

Here is a more precise description of the support material for the examination.
1. You can take any printed/written material (books, articles, notes etc.) with you to the examination. And of course a calculator is also allowed.
2. The digital examination on Inspera has a link to extra resources where you can find some PDF files. These PDF files include all the lecture slides as well as past examination questions and answers from 2019-2021. Note that these resources are lumped into a few PDF files.
3. If you have suggestions for any other extra resources, please let me know.
a) Questions and solutions from previous examinations can be found here.
b) There will be session on the 25. November (at regular time and place) to discuss examination related issues.
c) Offline quiz sessions are available through the "timeplan". You can use these to test your knowledge, but please note that the format of the exam questions is very different.
d) Note that any support material is allowed during the examination, even though the semester page says otherwise
We are approaching the completion of this semester's course. The last lecture would be on this Friday ( 18th of November).

The videos uploaded for this week's lecture on generative models have not appeared in 'timeplan'. The problem has been reported.
Mandatory exercise 3 is out. You can download it from "timeplan" from the row corresponding to 28. October or directly. Please use Canvas for submission.
All of you who have submitted mandatory assignment 1 should now be able to see the feedback on Canvas. If you have submitted the assignment but have not got any feedback please contact the course instructor. A model solution is also available (either through the timeplan row 2-corresponding to 2. sep) or from here.
Some students have reported software issues related to mandatory exercise 2. A discussion thread has been started on these issues in Canvas discussions.. Please read this discussion and ask further questions (if necessary) there.
Mandatory exercise 2 is now available from here. Note that your solution is to be submitted on Canvas. Submission deadline is 30th October.
Deadline for submission of mandatory exercise (25.09.22) is approaching. Please submit your solution on Canvas by the deadline if you haven't already done so.

Mandatory exercise 1 can be downloaded through the link provided in timeplan. Submit your results and answers as a zip/tar file on Canvas.
The planned date of examination is 30th November 2022. This is earlier than usual and therefore influences the normal schedule of the course. The matter was discussed with the administration and unfortunately it is really difficult to get that changed. Therefore the examination date remains as 30th November.
But then we have to introduce some small changes to the schedule of the course so that it fits to this date of examination. As a consequence, there will be a supplement on RNNs to this week's topic, CNNs. Apologies for the Inconvenience!
