The compulsory assignment in this course is an oral presentation. If you are planning to take the exam, and haven't given a presentation already, please contact me as soon as possible, so we can find a suitable time for your presentation.

In the first lecture, I will begin with the spectrum of a ring. The material will cover chapter 2 of the notes.

Introduction to Schemes

I will be going through the Chapters 1 and 3 relatively quickly (since these topics are mostly covered in MAT4210). These chapters are still very important, so I recommend reviewing them on your own.
