The oral examination will take place Tuesday, June 24, in room 108 (NH Abels Hus), between 09.30 and 16.00. The oral examination of each candidate will last around 40 minutes. There will be questions about definitions and examples of some of the main concepts; you will also be asked to state some important results, and in some cases you will have to sketch the proof. Some questions related to the exercises may also occur.
Every candidate will receive a separate e-mail (on their UiO-email account) with the time for their examination.
A description of the curriculum in MAT4450 this spring will be made available shortly after the last lecture (on May 21).

As a replacement for Tuesday's lecture, there will be a lecture on Friday, April 11, from 12.30 to 14, room 1119 NHA. As a replacement for today's lecture, there will be an extra lecture on Friday, April 25, from 12.30 to 14, room 1119, NHA.
The mandatory assignment is now available here. The deadline to hand in your solutions (using Canvas) is Thursday, April 10, within 2.30 pm.

Todays' lecture is sorrily cancelled due to illness. It will probably be replaced with an extra lecture later this semester.
The weekly sets will be made available in the schedule for the course every Wednesday. Solutions for each set will also be found there towards the end of the following week. The exercises are an important part of the course and you should spend some time on these on your own (or in groups), before having a look at the solutions.
Note that it is not necessary to buy the book by Pedersen. Notes from the lectures will be made available after each lecture. Pedersen's book and Enstad's notes (available on the web-page of the course) will be used as background literature. A set of exercises will be assigned every week.
