How did the church portray the Easter story during the Middle Ages? In the late 13^th century, the stave church in ?l in Hallingdal, southern Norway, got a new, beautiful ceiling featuring painted scenes from the Bible. Today this vaulted ceiling can be seen in the History Museum.
