The IPR Committee
The IPR Committee at UiO shall assess cases and issue advisory statements in disputes between inventors and UiO. The parties involved may be assisted by their union or other advisors.
The Committee must be composed in a way that ensures impartiality and cannot be instructed by the university leadership when practicing its professional duties.
Procedure
If doubt or disagreement arises between an employee and UiO concerning ownership of rights or distribution of net revenues from commercialisation of research results, the matter may be referred to the Department of Research and Innovation Administration. The Department may then submit the matter to the IPR Committee.
Mandate of the Committee
The IPR Committee shall assess cases and issue advisory statements in disputes between inventors and UiO, based on UiO’s rights policy. The Committee may also propose or recommend changes to the policy to the Rector and the University Board when experience indicates this to be advisable or useful.
