CREATE Annum
A fixed basic allocation (annum) is awarded to all permanent academic staff, as well as postdoctoral fellows and PhD candidates at CREATE – Center for Research on Equality in Education. These funds are intended to support and facilitate research activities at CREATE.
- PhD candidates and postdoctoral fellows will receive an annual allocation of NOK 25,000.
- Permanent academic staff will receive an annual allocation of NOK 40,000.
Funds are allocated automatically upon appointment and thereafter every January. Unused funds cannot be carried over to the next budget year. The exception applies to postdoctoral fellows and PhD candidates, who may use their allocated funds throughout the entire appointment period.

CREATE Extra Funding
CREATE offers competitive funding for activities that strengthen research at the centre.
Funding is available to academic staff and to groups of early-career researchers (PhD candidates and postdoctoral fellows).

You may apply for additional funding for:
- Long research stays (3–6 months)
- External courses (outside UiO)
- Short or long research stays (outside UiO)
- Courses relevant to research at CREATE (not offered at UiO)
- Conference participation where the applicant contributes (e.g., poster, regular presentation, organising a workshop or symposium)
- Hosting visiting researchers who give a talk during their stay at CREATE
- Organising research seminars, workshops, or other events
- Costs related to data collection, production, or access
- Language editing/proofreading
