Where can I print using this system?
On all UiO printers connected to PaperCut, which includes most UiO locations.
How many characters, numbers, and special characters must the password contain?
The password must consist of at least 4 characters – that is the only requirement. This user exists only in the web print system.?How to register
How many credits do I need?
It entirely depends on how much you need to print.
1 Credit equals 1 NOK and can be used for a double-sided print or two single pages.
How to top up your account
Note?Do not top up too much; the unused amount is not refundable.
Why am I getting this error?
The application that normally opens that file type is blocked. If Webprint supports the format, you can upload it there, but you may not be able to open it directly on this machine.
Can I use a USB flash drive?
No, unfortunately – USB flash drives are not supported in this system.
Can I scan documents and send them to my email with Webprint?
Yes, that works perfectly! You just need to verify your email address first. You will receive an email from noreply@usit.uio.no right after you create a user in Webprint (as described here). Click the link in the email and log in – then your email address will be verified. The link starts with "https://print.uio.no:443/verify/"
Note: If you're using Gmail, scanned documents may end up in your junk/spam folder with the header: "Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender".
In some cases, the scanned attachment may be missing entirely.
We are working on finding a better solution, but the limitation lies with Google, so it may take some time.
Will files I downloaded be automatically deleted?
Yes, when the PC is idle, a process begins that automatically deletes all files older than 10 minutes. Additionally, there is a setting in Microsoft Edge that should automatically delete downloaded files after the session ends.
Note?However, we still recommend that you delete files yourself at the end of the session, especially if they contain sensitive information.
Will Edge close automatically?
Yes – according to Microsoft’s documentation, the default setting is that Edge in kiosk mode closes automatically after 5 minutes of inactivity.
