SHAREbrain
The SHAREbrain project offers researchers tools and technical solutions for managing, standardising and sharing of neuroscience data. The project combines resources from the University of Oslo and the European digital infrastructure EBRAINS.

About SHAREbrain
Researchers produce large amounts of data in different formats, from experimental animal data to sensitive clinical imaging data. Understanding the structure and function of the brain requires the compilation of data from experiments, diagnostic analyses, computational models and simulations. However, differences in data types, file formats, analytical methods or legal requirements makes it difficult to compare data and enable reuse.?
The SHAREbrain project aims to enhance the discoverability of Norwegian neuroscience data via EBRAINS, Europe's digital research infrastructure for brain research.?
One goal is to facilitate responsible and secure sharing of sensitive data in line with the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and national legal, ethical and societal requirements. SHAREbrain collaborates with the UiO Services for Sensitive data (TSD) to create a workflow for controlled sharing of sensitive data exposed via EBRAINS.
A second goal is to increase the re-usability of data generated using advanced experimental methods, by creating a workflow for organising complex functional data and extracting standardised metadata, suitable for sharing via EBRAINS. ?
