Monthly living expenses
This is an average budget in Norwegian kroner (NOK) for students living in Oslo:
- Housing: 7500,-
- Food: 3500,-
- Transportation: 700,-
- Study costs (textbooks etc): 1000,-
- Leisure activities: 700,-
- Communication (phone, internet): 400,-
- Health costs: 250,-
- Other fixed living costs (clothing, toiletries, insurance, etc.): 1200,-

Part-time work
Many students work part?time alongside their studies. How much you are allowed to work depends on where in the world you come from (20 hours per week is the maximum for students from outside the EU/EEA). You can earn up to NOK 100 000 without paying tax in a calendar year.

Cost of studies
Semester fees: Each semester students must pay the semester fee and Kopinor fee. Most exchange students are exempt from paying the semester fee.
Tuition fees: Students with citizenship from countries outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland must pay tuition fees, unless they qualify for an exemption.
