INTED PhD Forum — Reading & Discussion Series

Being an interdisciplinary PhD means navigating multiple disciplines, methods and vocabularies and finding ways to bring them together; it can feel like managing competing demands, as you balance diverse methods, languages and perspectives while shaping your project.

The INTED PhD Forum offers a supportive, practice-focused space for researchers working across disciplines. Bring concrete challenges from your project, explore interdisciplinary approaches with peers, and develop practical strategies you can use right away.

About the forum

Each meeting mixes short, accessible readings with brief presentations, problem clinics and facilitated group discussion. Sessions are collegial and pragmatic: participants read a short text or case (in advance or on the spot), present a specific challenge from their research, and receive targeted feedback and concrete suggestions from peers and facilitators.

What to expect

  • Short, accessible readings to frame each meeting
  • Brief presentations or project clinics where participants bring real challenges
  • Facilitated discussion and practical takeaways you can apply immediately
  • A focus on concrete strategies for integrating methods, concepts and vocabularies across disciplines

Who should join

All PhD researchers working across disciplines are welcome, whether you are at the start of your project or nearing completion. The forum is inclusive, supportive and action-oriented.
