The Center for Interdisciplinary Education (INTED) at UiO works to strengthen interdisciplinary competence among students and staff. Interdisciplinary competence is the ability to integrate knowledge and ways of thinking from multiple disciplines to achieve new insights. INTED enhances the capacity of students and staff to participate in, facilitate, and lead interdisciplinary processes.

Highlights from the Honours Conference 2025: Students Facilitate the Future
On October 31 and November 1, the Honours conference 2025: Students Facilitate the Future took place at the University of Oslo, Norway, hosted by INTED in collaboration with
the European Honours Council.?
The theme centered on?students’ potential and agency?in tackling complex, real-world challenges through honours and interdisciplinary education.
What do we mean by interdisciplinary competence?
Developing interdisciplinary competence in addition to expertise in one's home discipline
Social and disciplinary skills are required for working in interdisciplinary teams
The ability to adress challenges that cannot be effectively, ethically, or adequately solved from a single discipline
Student driven activities
Students are key partners in all aspects in all aspects of the center. Students will be involved in the center's leadership, teaching, and evaluation. Academic employees will work alongside students to create programs, courses, and sessions.
