“Jobbklar” stand today!
Each Tuesday, you can meet with career advisors from the University of Oslo and the Faculty of Humanities at the “Jobbklar” stand and get advice on smart choices during your studies, job opportunities and applying for jobs.
On Monday April 20, there will be a stand by the IMK teaching premises in the Research Park from 12:00 – 14:15!

Mock Defence on Tuesday!
Remember that the Mock Defence is running tomorrow from 12.15 to 16.00 in room 230. You don’t have to have signed up to attend, so feel free to drop by if you want to! Remember to enter the room quietly during the presentations or defences, so you do not disturb them. Lunch is served at 13.00, and snacks will be available throughout. There will be an open Q&A from 15.00 onwards. See you there!

Do you want to engage in the student community and gain something valuable for your CV? Then this is for you!
We’re putting together a buddy committee for the upcoming semester, and we’re looking for (soon to be) second-year students who want to help give new students a warm and welcoming start, and create a strong social foundation from day one.
Being a buddy is a social and low-threshold role, but it makes a real difference in how new students experience the programme. You’ll help create an inclusive environment, answer questions, and contribute to a positive start for the new cohort.
Through this, you’ll gain valuable experience, build your network, and make a meaningful contribution to the student community.

Bli l?ringsassistent p? IMK - s?knadsfrist i dag!
Institutt for medier og kommunikasjon har ledige deltidsstillinger p? timesbasis som l?ringsassistenter for emnene EXFAC03-MVIT, MEVIT1001 og MEVIT4010. Arbeidet vil inneb?re ? bist? med oppgaver som st?tter opp om undervisningen og oppf?lging av studenter. Assistentene vil inng? i undervisningsteam, og vil f? god oppl?ring og oppf?lging underveis. Omfanget vil bli om lag 100-200 timer i h?stsemesteret 2026. For noen av emnene vil det v?re mulighet for forlengelse v?ren 2027.

Are you in your final semester and want some practice for your thesis defence? The SAMMEN-panel is hosting a Mock Defence event on the 21st of April, giving you the opportunity to present your thesis and receive constructive feedback from academic staff. Lunch and coffee will be served.
The event is also open to any students who wish to watch the presentations and listen to the feedback they receive. The event will also close with a panel Q&A where you and your fellow students can ask broader questions about the thesis and defence process.
To attend, please sign up using the link below. In the form, select whether you would like to present or just attend. Both presenters and attendees must sign up, to ensure there is enough food for everyone. Signups to present are binding. We have limited spots for presentations; first come, first serve!

Masterstipend: Forum for vitenskapsteori
Forum for vitenskapsteori har lyst ut ?rets masterstipend. Stipendet kan s?kes av masterstudenter ved UiO som skriver masteroppgave med vitenskapsteoretisk innhold, uavhengig av fagdisiplin. Mottakere f?r ogs? tilgang til forumets nettverk og kompetanse.

Fritt Ords masterstipend 2026
Stiftelsen Fritt Ord lyser ut stipend til masterprosjekter som tar for seg ytringsfrihet i juridisk betydning og/eller ytringskultur i bredere, kulturell forstand. Teknologiens rolle for ytringsfrihet og ytringskultur, minoriteter og andre gruppers forhold til ytringsfrihet st?r sentralt.
Vi vil st?tte prosjekter som er kritiske og analytiske. St?tten kan g? til generell st?tte i studentfasen eller til spesifikke utgifter. Prosjekter der det trengs st?tte til relevante reiser, research og datainnsamling vil bli prioritert.

Classic Hollywood Film Night
The American Lutheran Congregation (Fritzners gate 15, Oslo) invites you to a Film night for students on Friday 17 April at 18:00.
This film will be a delightful surprise and it won Academy Awards!
Students from all religions and nationalities are welcome.
A free, warm meal with vegetarian options and snacks will be provided from 17:30.
Any student who wants to attend must RSVP at jlervag@gmail.com so that organizers can prepare enough food.

Announcement of Master's Scholarship: The Science Studies Colloquium
The Science Studies Colloquium Series has announced this year's Master's Scholarship. The scholarship can be applied for by master's students at UiO who are writing a master's thesis with scientific theory content, regardless of discipline. Recipients also get access to the forum's network and expertise.

Fritt Ord's grants for master’s degrees
Is your master’s project about freedom of expression, social debate or journalism? If so, you can apply for a student grant from the Fritt Ord Foundation.
The Fritt Ord Foundation invites applications for grants for master’s degree projects that address freedom of expression in the legal sense and/or the culture of freedom of expression in a broader, cultural sense. The role of technology for freedom of expression and the culture of freedom of expression, minorities and other social groups’ relationship to and experience of freedom of expression are also key topics.
