On October 15, the dScience centre would like to welcome the data science community to an evening of socialization, learning and entertainment.

We will start the event with a session of company stands, mingling and food. Then we will be hearing exciting talks from our invited speakers.

Continuing the success from previous years, we will invite a wide range of relevant companies to set up stands where they can present themselves to our guests. Our goal is to bring all parts of the data science community together for unique networking opportunities.

The event is free and open for all audiences, whether you are familiar with data science practices, or you are curious about data science. Food, snacks and soft drinks will be served.?

To ensure that we have enough food, we kindly ask all participants to register your attendance. Registration will open closer to the event.

Program

17:00 – Company stands and mingling
19:00 –?Presentations

We are happy to share that we will hear presentations from Torgeir Tr?ite from InMind, Kongsberg, Andreas Carlson from UiO, and ?zgü Alay-Erduran from UiO.

InMind is a Norwegian tech company developing a world-leading robot brain that equips robots with powerful learning capabilities and optimized performance. To showcase their groundbreaking technology, they design DXT – a robot that redefines what a robot can accomplish.

Kongsberg will present HUGIN – the most successful commercial Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) available. It combines IHO quality positioning with the highest resolution sensors on the market, and collects data from many different sensors concurrently, providing a comprehensive geophysical dataset from a single mission. HUGIN is equipped with swappable batteries and removable data storage enabling continuous operations.

Professor Andreas Carlson (Department of Mathematics) will give the talk "Vibration of Elastic Sheets to Facilitate Adhesion and Locomotion in Robotics".

Professor ?zgü Alay-Erduran (Department of Informatics) will talk about "Being There Without Being There: AI-Driven Remote Robotic Presence".

Company Stands

There will be a number of company stands, showcasing their work and innovations to participants. A great opportunity to increase your network.

Register for a company stand

Hosting a stand is free of charge, the no show fee is 1 000 NOK.
